Marco Sørensen has gotten a new works deal with Aston Martin Racing.
The 33 year old Dane has signed a new multi-year deal with the British sportscar brand, for which he has raced for since 2015.
It’s been some quite successful years for Sørensen. He won the GTE Pro title alongside Nicki Thiim in 2016 – something he did again in the 2019/20 season. They continued to race together for just one season more, before the GTE Pro programme was shut down, following the car company being bought by Lawrence Stroll.
But it wasn’t a goodbye to AMR, but he was instead put into some private programmes around the world, plus getting the chance to do LMP2 with High Class Racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which wasn’t AMR related.

He was back in the FIA WEC in 2022 with TF Sport, where he won both the 24 Hours of Le Mans plus the GTE Am title, in addition to participating in the European Le Mans Series. 2023 started out with winning the 24 Hours of Daytona in the GTD category with Heart of Racing Team, for which he continued to race for the rest of the season. He was part of the GMB Motorsport effort at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well, but never made it into the car in the race itself, since they had a race ending accident after only a few hours.
The new deal will see him back in the FIA WEC in 2024 with the Japanese D’Station Racing outfit, in the new LMGT3 category. But he will also be helping out with the Aston Martin Valkyrie development, for the upcoming Hypercar and GTP programme in 2025 onwards. So there will be plenty of work for the tall Dane.
The first race of 2024 will be the Rolex 24 at Daytona with Heart of Racing Team, where Marco Sørensen will try to defend the GTD win.
